THE best plan for L.V.?

I am planning my first trip to L.V. in early Oct. I am also new
to V.P. and comps. I need a room for one night.
My plan was to go to the LV Hilton and ask how much play is
required for one night for room and food. If the host says $5K coin
in is enough, then I would get a players card. I planned to play $1
Pick-em for 2 hrs.
Am I on track with my plan, or should I go somewhere else, or
play a different game?

1) Expecting a straight answer from a host is like expecting a royal on your
next hand of video poker. It might happen but the probability is slim.

2) Do you enjoy video poker and play it well? If so, running enough coin
through a machine for a comp can make sense, and the LV Hilton can be a good
choice if you play $PE.

3) Be aware that your couple hours of $VP play might get you a "free" room
that costs hundreds of dollars.

Good luck!
