THE best plan for L.V.?

I am planning my first trip to L.V. in early Oct. I am also new
to V.P. and comps. I need a room for one night.
My plan was to go to the LV Hilton and ask how much play is
required for one night for room and food. If the host says $5K coin
in is enough, then I would get a players card. I planned to play $1
Pick-em for 2 hrs.
Am I on track with my plan, or should I go somewhere else, or
play a different game?

Another option might be Main street station. They do not have pickem
but they have 9/6 JoB, 8/5 Bonus, FPDW, 10/7 DB and a room comp
requires less coin in if I remember correctly. -Russ

I would suggest the following...
Call the Casino and book a room ( check for specials on their web site).
Go there and play at the level where you feel comfortable, I would suggest quarter pick-em , and play for a longer time. This gives you a better chance to survive an initial bad streak that could take you for a few hundred in less than an hour at the dollar level.
When you have finished playing speak to a host and ask them what they can do for you.
Don't blow more money than you are comfortable with trying to chase a comped room, it will always make you feel worse in the end. If your play is reasonably lucky you can play all day and be up or down a hundred, if that gets you a free room you will have been a success.

Regards
A.P.
