My sincere thanks to every thoughtful list member who responded to
vpdaughter's post requesting guidance in the purchase of a birthday
present for her vp playing mom. I also warmly thank those that
wrote in support of vpdaughter after she "identified" me as her mom.
I even thank George Lee who suggested that the "vpmom" in question,
had a "problem" (read addiction) because she wanted to play vp
exclusively while visiting LV, and eschewed shows and 5* restaurants.
It gave me quite a laugh when I realized that the vp player I had
defended was MOI!
Obviously, I didn't know that I was the mom in question when the
post first appeared, and I also responded with a gift suggestion.
Previously, after one of my very dear friends (Dori, from Chicago)
called my attention to the post, suggesting that it could have been
been written by my daughter, I contacted "vpdaughter" privately, and
asking straight out, if she belonged to me. She assured me that it
was a case of "mistaken identity". I accepted this at face value,
and promptly forgot about it.
You can imagine my delighted surprise when, at my birthday dinner,
this wonderful (but devious) daughter presented me with Bob Dancer's
latest book, nicely inscribed and autographed by Bob. Included in
the book was a note from Bob explaining that my daughter had also
purchased his yet to be released new software, and that I would
receive my copy when it's ready for shipment.
I had a wonderful birthday, made even more enjoyable by the loving
thoughtfulness of this really good kid!
