Thank You (Taxi vs. Shuttle?)

I would like to thank everyone who responded to this question, I got
many replies, most of them being greatly helpful.
One thing I guess I wasn't clear about in my original post is that I
will be travelling with my girlfriend, so there'll be two of us.
Considering this, it sounds like taking a taxi will be the best
option.
Now.....do I have to give the cabbie specific directions on how to get
to Mandalay Bay so we don't get driven all over the place, or is it a
straight route to the hotel?

By law, the cabbie is required to take you the most direct route,
unless you ask otherwise. Of course, there have been reports that
some drivers will try to circumvent this by asking if you want to go
the most direct way or the "fastest" one.

At any rate, don't sweat over this one. When you get in the taxi,
just tell the driver that you're going to MB, via Paradise. Your fare
should run about $10-$12.
