The Wizard performed a test that checked how often each card came up.
It has been suggested that a reasonable check would be to see how
often you are dealt a small pair (or any pair).
Neither of these seem to get at what we really want to know.
I think a good way to test for VP is to simply record the hand
result and compare your stats to those known for the game. For
example, for 9/6 JoB, the probabilities are:
RF: 0.002%
SF: 0.011%
4K: 0.236%
FH: 1.151%
FL: 1.101%
ST: 1.123%
3K: 7.455%
2P:12.928%
HP:21.459%
##:54.543%
It's a pain to do this, but usually worth it. For example, I've
kept track of busts and double downs in blackjack, and found that
the stats were right on track for sample sizes of 2000 hands or so.
If several people play at the same place, we could even collect the
data for comparison purposes. Comments welcome.

Testing a game/RNG/casino for randomness
I'd do 2000 hands at 5Dimes FPDW if it'd help. - Grun

What would be nice is to have several people doing the same thing.
Keeping track of all the hands is a pain in the behind and
significantly reduces the pleasure of your free time. However, for
the Deuces Wild players at 5Dimes, if we can keep track of coin-in
(through comp points or some other means) and possibly the number of
RF, 4D, WR, and 5K hands, we should be able to come up with some
fairly straightforward, meaningful statistics. Is this something that
members would like to do? I'm sure it's something that vpFREE members
would like to read about. If yes, I would volunteer to keep and post
group stats.
The 5Dimes Transaction Report lists the result ($ won or lost) of every hand played. You can copy and paste the info to Excel, but only one page (25 transactions) at a time. I have 2,569 pages of transactions!
Since I became aware of the 5Dimes FPDW (by the way - thankyou grunduggerer for that 5Dimes post), here's a summary of my stats:
Actual [Expected]
In 54,175 hands: Wild Royals 76 [97]
In 64,215 hands: Deuces 7 [13]
In 64,215 hands: RF 2 [1.4]
In 64,215 hands: coin in $80,267.50, Return $1200 [$612].
The number of hands played is from the Transaction Report, the number of WR, deuces and RF is from my own records. I didn't keep track of the WR's for the first few days. This accounts for the differing hands played in the above table.
