Terrible's New Computer System

If you are looking for a good laugh and have a high threshold of tolerance, get Thee to Terrible's and observe the slot personnel trying to work with the new computer system! As usual, the management did not train their people to work with real human problems, only what the new system can do - or not do - as the case may be.

We went Monday and played for gas credits. We had a total of $65 worth of gas between us. The club was not open on Monday, we were assured if we came back on Tuesday that we could redeem our credits for gas. We arrived on Monday afternoon. The wait in line was very enlightening. People, who had not read the three page memo, were yelling about points being taken away. Others were trying to pick out all kinds of merchandise with their "old" points before they disappeared. We finally made it to the front of the line. We asked for our gas credits, they said they did not have any coupons and were not doing gas today. Oh, oh. I could see George begin to get the picture.....we would come back tomorrow when the points had been altered and there would be no gas coupons allowed for Monday's play. Well, it took three slot employees and two supervisors to finally decided to send one of them somewhere else to print our coupons. We asked for our new red cards as we did not get them in the mail as the memo said we would. They could find George, got his new account set up. I was no where to be found in the old system, even though I was there last week, redeemed for gas coupons and have had a yellow card for as long as they have been open, at least since 2001, as the sticker on the card says. It took another slot club person another 10 minutes to figure you where I was. It was insane, but expected, as nothing ever runs smoothly when there is a change.

This brings up another case of frustration at Palms on Monday. Somewhere I lost my "green card" that was sent to me in the mail with instructions on when to get the picture printed on it at the slot club. I went to booth for another green card and to get my picture on it. I was handed a purple card. I asked where the green card was, they said the computer said I was not eligible. Wait a minute....I got one in the mail. Oh, they said, that was from marketing, not slot club. OK, there are two departments issuing cards at Palms? No. Yes. They looked at the computer that makes pictures, it said "VIP" was the last picture printed. That is all it took to get the green card. Why do they make life so difficult? The older I get the more I see the humor in all of this and the less frustrated I get! If not, I could primal scream all over The Valley!

Hope the rest of you are having a very sane and understanding relationship with your slot clubs!
Cheers!
Bonnie
