Going down Tropicana is certainly the shorter route, but I-215 to 95 to Tropicana/Nellis might be faster. It is the route I always take to Sams Town, and that is the route that the Limo from Sam's Town uses. When I have a rental car I care about time not distance.

I would think twice about taking the tunnel to the Boulder Strip. A better alternative would be to go down Tropicana and turn left onto Nellis. Taking the tunnel to the Boulder Strip would add at least 5-6 miles extra.
