This has been upheld by court rulings, I believe. And this is one of the
main reasons why many feel cashback is income and should be reported - and comps
and bounce-back are "gifts." Has anyone ever been barred, got bounce-back
cash or Free Play which perhaps which was already in the mail before the barring,
and was or was not allowed to pick it up?

Since the casino's main purpose in mailing BB is to get the player to come in
and play on the day he cashes his BB, it seems unlikely that a person who has
been barred from playing (as I was from Ellis Island--not "trespassed") would
be able to cash already-mailed BB. But, considering how disorganized internal
communication can be at casinos, this is certainly not written in stone!

Regarding regular cash back earned, if the casino's slot club literature
states an expiration period (no play for X months, usually 12 or 18), they might
be able to wipe out your cash back account legally if you exceed this time
period with no play there. Be careful not to go beyond this time period--since
you're not getting interest on your cash back, you might as well collect it and
"invest" it yourself!

On a slightly different subject, I had over $1200 in my Silverton comp
account. After a dispute over points earned on a multipoint day, I didn't play there
for over two years. After all that time, I stopped there and went to inquire
about my comps at the slot club. Was told that my comps had "expired" due to
lack of play in two years. I asked if there was any way that my comp account
could be reinstated, since I planned on playing there again. A supervisor told
me to go ahead and play, and that within one week my comp account would be
reinstated. I played 50c 10/7 DB for about an hour, returned a week later, and my
comp points were back in my account! So, as Jean Scott always says, ASK! It
can't hurt, and it sometimes gets you an exception to the rules!
