Taxi or Shuttle???

I've got my whole trip planned except for transportation from/to the
airport. What is everyone's opinion on whether I should take a taxi
or a shuttle to Mandalay Bay?
There are really no time constraints, we arrive around noon and don't
depart until around 10:30pm. Would the ride on a shuttle take a lot
longer than a taxi? Las Vegas Limousine seems to have good shuttle
reviews, any comments?

Thanks for the input,

If you don't mind hanging around until the van has been packed full of
passengers, go ahead and do the shuttle. MB is likely one of the
first stops for your shuttle so it's a pretty simple ride. (I'm
assuming that you're travelling solo ... consider springing for a taxi
if you're with someone else -- the cost won't likely be that much more
than the van for 2 ... but then again, I'm not up to date on fares.)

For anything down the strip much past MGM, I personally recommend a
taxi. The shuttle quickly gets petty old.

With 2 or more people it should be less expensive to take a taxi to MB. It
will probably also be quicker. If you go with a shuttle, do not purchase a
return ride. They may not make it to your hotel in a timely manner and your
departing flight is not going to wait for you.

if it's just you take the shuttle, otherwise get a cab. When I took
the shuttle a month ago, Mandalay was I think the 3rd stop.

Yeah ... more often than not a van load of people with an average age
of 21.1 who are ready to P-AAA-RRTY!

Not my cup of tea after an exhausting cross country flight ...

- Harry (very much settling into my 40's, much to my dismay

Although the reply is late - the extreme entry costs of a taxi from the airport make it always more expensive for a taxi versus a shuttle even for 2. It's $3.20 just to get in to the taxi and $1.20 airport fee, $4.40 and you haven't even moved a millimeter, add to this $2.00 a mile you are at the equivalent of 2 shuttle fares by rhe time you leave the airport. You can also take the freqnet running 24' bus #109 to the south strip terminal and get a free transfer to teh #301 to Mandalay Bay if you don;t have more than one bag each. This option is only $1.25 per person, less for seniors.
