Taxi and senior discounts on public transit in Vegas

Vegas residents can receive coupon books (now up to 6 per month!) for $10
which contain $20 worth of taxi coupons. We've had no trouble using them with
all the taxis in town, and even use them for tips. They come from the Dept.
of Aging. You have to go in person to show you are over 65. Then you
purchase as many as you need each month by sending a check and stamped envelope by
mail.

Anyone over 62 can also go to the Transit terminal downtown to receive a ID
good for 50% off of bus fares and bus passes. Passes can be purchased by
mail as well from the CAT website (without showing ID). Once you have the ID
and discount monthly pass, you may be asked occasionally to show the ID along
with putting the pass in the turnstile, but that is rare.

See - there are a few good things about getting older!

My husband has turned 65 and now I'm actually looking forward to it because
of Medicare!
