TAXES:::: Something New

My thought exactly. If he lives in Michigan (as I do), or another one of the
states that don't allow losses to fade winnings on income taxes, his
residence is in the wrong place to be playing for big stakes.

Sounds like you should establish residence in another state. Buy a condo in

Florida or something.

Gentlemen: One of my objectives in retirement is not to own two or
more residences. Everything is comped at Wynn so I do not need
another home. I'd move to Nevada, but because of my wife's ties to
family, she does not wish to relocate when I'm retired. We did that
when I worked. We've been married 41 years and now is not the time
for me to cause a divorce. Denny

Since you're a High Roller, I'd recommend you talk to both an
accountant and a tax attorney who specialize in gambling tax law.

You may have done this, but from your initial post it seems that your
accountant is a "generalist" for lack of a better term.

Mac: You were at least initially correct. Since last August he's
become one hell of a lot smarter. I have also suggested that at some
time we made need an attorney and he agrees that if we hit tax court we
will.

I must say I am very pleased at the quality of all the responses I have
so far received on this issue. Thank you all so much. Denny
