Open letter to George Maloof at the Palms

This will problably get me flamed majorly, but besides my being an anti tatto
person, have any of you noticed the cigarette girl at The Palms has a
terminal smoker's voice and can barely call out "cigarettes". George Maloof, you
are a health care enviromental neanderthal. What rock are you living under at
the Palms? You want the young crowd to play at the Palms, but you are trying to
kill them at the same time. Someday the sweet young things with tons of
tatoos, my personal favorite, the whole back tatto, will live to wonder what
possessed them to do it. Tatoos are a real threat to contract HIV and I don't even
have to mention the dangers of tobacco, smokers and non smokers alike know
that. Is this any way to treat your prime clientale, George?

Since when?? In a back alley probably, but not in a legally licensed Tattoo Parlor. I think the "Urban Legend" has raised it's ugly head again. I am confident that no one can present a documented case of HIV from a licensed business. The same holds true for legal brothels in Nevada. Not one case of HIV has ever been reported from licensed premises from clients or from the workers (both men and women). The "houses" are very proud of this fact statewide and articles about it have been published many times. It just goes to show you that when a business is licensed and safety controls are in place and adhered to, that anything is possible. If a business did not safely dispense it's product, or even if there was a perception of something wrong, word of mouth (pun not intended) would shut their doors very quickly.

All reputable tattoo artists use a new needle on each customer. I
know tons of people with tattoos, and none of them regret their
decisions. I am a 35 year old wife and mother, and video poker
player, with a large tattoo on my ankle, which I happen to love. I
resent the assumptions that all tattooed people are lowlifes, or
stupid twentysomethings. Let's be open minded!
