I don't understand how the "advantage" players, who are the readers of this group, stopping their winning action at the Suncoast will hurt them at the slightest. Suncoast would probably be all for the loss of the players who might cause them any loss (even the $8/hour long term that someone mentioned).

I have been described as an "advantage" player.
I am also a winning player.
However, other than the few progressive jackpots that I have won at
the Suncoast, I beleive that I am a LOSER at 25c deuces at the
Suncoast.
Overall, I'm ahead there but that includes 2 or 3 $10,000 + jackpots.
Unless you play there almost exclusively, there are more losing
sessions than winning ones and that goes for almost everyone.
How many "advantage" players also dabble at Blackjack, Craps, etc?
How often do you buy a hot dog or something from the snack bar?
They will lose far more from my leaving than they would if I remained.

There are more things that this going on. There are some players who know
enough to
know the change is bad, but still play poorly. How much this will affect
the bottom
line is uncertain. What is pretty clear is that FPDW has been profitable
for years
and probably still makes a profit, though it is probably lower than in past
years.
It seems the change is an effort to squeeze out a few extra dollars from
their slots
and not to stop a major outflow of money. My opinion is that it is bad
business to
mess with a fromula that has been so successful for so long.
Another factor, as has been mentioned already, is the loss of business from
other
players. Lots of people from this group bring in other business. That will
all
evaporate.
Even among ourselves, there are many who will dabble in games where they
take the
worst of it. Hopefully they just dabble, but I know that lots of people who
have an
advantage cannot resist giving significant action to these other games.
I think the Suncoast change is, in essence, an experiment. I wish I were
sure it
would fail, but I am not.

I am no marketing expert but I'm not convinced it's that simple.
Very few players are exclusively advantage players and casinos have
many important revenue streams besides gambling.
