Hi-
We like gaudy, neon, tacky places with no taste-LOL.
So we definitely will be staying at the Peppermill and Atlantis with a couple of side trips to Western Village.
What other places in Reno/Tahoe are must sees for tacky lovers?
Also, at Atlantis and Peppermill what specific places (restaurants, bars, open spaces, etc) would we enjoy?
Tacky places in Reno for first-time visitors
Serious? or just joking??
For a good 'throwback' and portion sized meal,
try the "NUGGET's" old snackbar (in the back) downtown....
Reminded me of Westward Ho in LV, only a little smaller,
but food similar.....
I found the decline in DOWNTOWN Reno (other than the 'big 3' of Eldo-SL-Circus connecting casino/malls) quite depressing.
Even Harrah's/Cal Neva somewhat on the decline (age-wise).
Walking PAST HOMELESS beggars was NOT fun last trip..
Martin.

No joke. I can find bland, neutral "good taste" places from Maine to California.
They make me yawn. Give me Stupak's Vegas World any day.

shooters bar downtown across from silver legacy, double down lite but kool

Love the Pepp ,EVRYTHING tacky in its own way, buffet with the "special effects", coffee shop with the "trees and mirrors" motif, the rooms with the strange art work that also goes down the halls, the rooms with the mirrored wall,
MJ
Thanks all for the suggestions.
Any comments on the "Western Village"?

If you walk into Western Village you'll think you're walking into the Peppermill, only on a much smaller scale. Favorabler VP there too. The decor looks the same. Actually, last month went I took the tour through Western Village I thought there restaurant prices were MUCH more reasonably priced than the Pep's, although WV doesn't have a buffet.

The Western Village (Sparks) is in the Peppermill family and once inside it'll be obvious - they must have had a hella sale on neon at some point. If you're staying at the P-mill, it's probably not worth the short drive out to WV to see the mini version of its big brother, unless you go for the Steakhouse, which is one of the best in the area. The cheesy theme extends into that restaurant, as well, with its dim lighting and plush velveteen booths. It's a fun experience and the food is great.
"Favorabler" VP than where? The Pep? Other places which you consider the Pep superior to as well?

Been to all the above places.
Casino Fandango is cool, kind of like a mini Atlantis.
Biltmore is about like how an "old" casino would be.
Bavarian World in Reno? If that's the one I'm thinking of, then it's overpriced and not worth the effort.
