TACHI PALACE update... JAN 2012

30 miles south of Fresno (rte 41) and 20 miles west of Visalia (rte 198), in the city of Lemoore, is TACHI PALACE hotel/casino.

As with most tribal casinos, it's mostly non-VP, but there are a dozen or so in the SUNSET LOUNGE, 14 "table" models (7 are multi-hand-play) in the bottom level of the orig casino, a few uprights in the non-smoking room and some in the snack bar. There may be others in the non-smoking casino upstairs/new casino section.

They are all IGT GAME KINGS and IGT MULTI-GAMES. Most had an AUTO-HOLD feature with fairly good advise... handy when you are over-tired and prone to missing things.

The DD were mostly 5/9 (lounge), however, there were some full-pay 6/9 (snack bar). The JOB were typical 5/8. For you DEUCES WILD fans, pay close attention to the pay tables: the 25c were basically short-pay 1-2-3-4-4-10-12 but the $1 paid better at 1-2-3-4-4-12-15.

Remember to play max coins, otherwise expect a very short-pay ROYAL FLUSH (250 per coin).

GOOD LUCK ALL.

There are several points in this that are inaccurate. I know this casino's floor like the back of my hand. I can try to correct this later if you want, but suffice it to say there is nothing full-pay in the whole casino and only two games that are barely over 99%. That would be the three Double Super Times Pay machines, with 13-4 BDW at 98.80% + .50, and then the Multi-Strikes with PNSU. Everything else in the casino is under 99%. And it's true, most machines have auto-hold. All but a bank of progressives are accurate in my opinion.

Essentially, their video poker sucks. But it is a nice place, very nice hotel, good food, friendly people, good marketing. Maybe some day their video poker options will improve.

One exception. They have 9-6-(239)JoB for $5 in the high limit section.

There is no 9-6 DDB in the casino. The "9-6" in the snack bar is their standard 9-6-5 Double Bonus (97.81%), not Double Double Bonus.

Over a year ago there were some Bally Game Makers with dollar 9-6 DDB, but for some reason these Game Makers were replaced with Bally Slot games. In fact, over a year ago there were actually a few good plays at Tachi. So you never know, things could always change. But currently, it's pretty dismal. I wish they had some decent progressives, with the pay tables they currently have, but apparently they are of a different philosophy. The fact that it is almost exclusively auto-hold tells me they are treating VP as just another "slot machine".

In my opinion the only Indian casino in the "non-sucky" category for VP is Barona, in Lakeside, CA (eastern San Diego County), rated #2 in California by VPFREE2. They have a large selection of games paying above 99.5%, including some in 25c and 50c denominations. [For some reason I can't understand, Harrah's Rincon is ranked #1 in California, but it has far fewer high-paying games].

Bob: you need to check your hands more often, especially the back of your hands. A pro played a 99.9% game and got great cash back and bounce back and mailers. He could put 50K to 100K a day but to max the benefits, his actual play was less.

The best current VP game is 99.5% in Tachi and these games played fast. Hint, you can verify this via vpgenius.com. Btw, that 99.9% game was removed.

Good luck and check your hands more often!

My hope is that Tachi burns to the ground very soon. I took a beating there
a couple weekends ago. Yes, I am bitter.

On a happier note I made a nice profit at Table Mountain ($1 NSUD) and
Chukchansi (Let It Ride table).
