Table Mountain Casino

I had a chance to check out Table Mountain earlier today. The FP pick'em is still there, but is now located in an air circulation dead zone. The lingering smoke was terrible, but where can you find this game today? Also of interest is a bank of a quarter 12 machines that has JOB, BP and DW and a RF progressive. The base games are in the 98% area, but the progressive was a very fast moving meter. I was unable to get a reliable read on the movement due to the number of players, but I am thinking it is a 2% meter. The royal progressed $500 in the short period of time I was at the casino, and I am sure this can become a very playable game at times for the locals. This bank is located to the left of the table games as you enter from the main entrance.

They continue to send me $20 in free play, although I do not go to this casino very often due to the driving distance. It could be a great casino for those that live in the Fresno area.

They still have 9/6 JOB at the $1 level also scattered about the casino.

Thank you for this post. So based on your information what would be the
best casino to play VP at in the Central Valley: Table Mountain,
Chukchansi, or the Tachi Palace?

I hope someone local can give you a better answer, but I think Table Mountain Casino is hard to beat, especially for the quarter player. I used to play at Chuckchansi, but my last visit over a year ago I could not find anything worth playing. They went through a series of downgrades, and I have crossed them off my list. I have only been to Tachi Palace one time years ago, but this place is just too far away for me.

Table Mountain is sure not a fancy place, I much prefered the Chuck, but I go where the best plays are. Ambiance and amenities are a low priority to me.

Another casino in the general area is the Black Oak Casino near Sonora. I used to play there also, but they removed all playable video poker. They are just interested in the penny slot machine crowd it seems.

The bank you are discussing has moved around a bit. I know that it was previously 1% meter rise when I tested it about a year ago when it was on the other side of the room. In my opinion it is a very good setup and a model for what other casinos should strive to stock their floor with. It makes plenty of money for them and can be profitable for the player at the same time. Both Tachi and Chukchansi are quite near-sighted in this regard. Obviously Tachi and Chukchansi are paranoid about offering any playable video poker. But they have no competition and are always crowded.

Thank you for the advice on this. I had a blast playing on this bank of machines with some very friendly locals. I had my first experience with bonus poker and hit quad aces, twos and fours. After taking a 150 profit from the quarters I moved over to the dollar NSUD and had a great session. After getting used to the shitty pay tables I usually play in Vegas it sure is refreshing to paid 80 on a 5 of a kind and 125 on a wild royal. Anyways I made the mistake of switching over to DDB and lost all my profit and $300 buy in in short order and slunk away into the night. I did put 5000 points on my card so I'm sure that entitles me to a free bowl of soup. All in all I had an awesome time and will be back for some more $1 NSUD!

The "best" DDB they have there is 8-5, which is a horrible game. It's under 97%.

For dollars they have NSUD and 9-6 JoB. They also have a progressive bank for dollar with 7-5 BP, 8-5 JoB, and 12-10 DW. There are 4 or 5 machines in the bank. Jackpot rarely gets big but I believe it's a 1% meter rise (which is good) and it was $7500 a few nights ago.

The 12-bank progressive for quarters that was discussed in this thread has the same three games. 7-5 BP, 8-5 JoB, and 12-10 DW, with a 1% meter. It's a popular bank and regularly has some healthy jackpots.

Then there is a 5-cent bank of progressives, which plays 20 coins. I've seen the jackpot get pretty big. On Thanksgiving Friday when they had a 5 X Points promo (wow!) the jackpot was $3000. I could not get a seat. The games on it are 7-5 JoB, I think 15-10 DW (94.82%), and 8-5 BP with even-money for two pair (94.18%). Bad games to be sure, but when the jackpot is big they can be pretty interesting.

And then they have 7 old time Game Makers with Pick'em for quarters. Slow and old, but a lot of fun!

I think their slot club and promo schedule is very reasonable and the place is usually packed and is a very good place to play. Plenty of table games, even some double deck blackjack. Employees are very friendly. They have a decent restaurant and buffet. I really like Table Mountain, I would play there more if I lived closer. Too bad there's no hotel.

Well since nobody else is posting I might as well. I continued my love affair with the NSUD the other day, Wednesday, as I was driving down from the bay area to be with my wife and child staying at the in laws south of Fresno. My stop off at Table Mountain on the way was to chase the 300 loss of the previous Sunday. I started on the $2 Deuces Wild which was short pay at 20 for for a 4OAK and 15 for a flush, making it worse than the NSUD.
I then switched over to the NSUD and was quickly down several hundred. Nothing was hitting to save my life.
I finally switched over to the DDB on the same machine and hit four 3s with an Ace kicker for $800. My first "premium" hand on DDB ever, if you can call it that. I can call it that because all of a sudden I was even again for the session. A nice lady appeared out of nowhere and paid me in franklins, I tipped her nicely and went on my way.
I made one stop at the 3 card poker table on my way out. Bought in for 120 and was dealt crap for 5 hands. Watch the lady two spots down take a straight flush as a deal for 40 to 1. Finally started catching pairs and then a straight with 10 on the pair plus. Cashed out 150 after tipping the dealer a dime, and by dime I mean ten dollars
So I'm still down $250 at Table Mountain but I'm up to ten thousand points now which I believe is good for 2 bowls of soup. I've no desire to hit Tachi or Chukchansi, even though the latter has my beloved Let It Ride table.
Thanks for reading, if you've gotten this far.....

I think you can get more than two bowls of soup. You can now use your points for free play. I believe you have earned $20 in free play for your points. I might recommend you use the points. I had Table Mountain clear out my comp account. I made a trip about 4 years ago and my card would not work, so I went to the slot club where the gal told me my account had been put on inactive status because I had not played in two years. The truth was I had been there three months earlier (card was working fine) and at least 4 times during the previous two years. I had no proof that I had been there and I believe my point balance was about 20,000. Nothing I could do. Additionally my last trip I had a very good trip and perhaps that had something to do about my card being wiped clean? I just don't know. I do know I should have used the points, but they did not allow you to use the points for free play at that time.

They also have a Mega Mountain Jackpot that gets very large. It is one of those jackpots that can hit any time by just having your card in the reader. I was at the casino earlier this year when the card reader announced that the Mega Cash was going to hit. It was an early weekday morning, so I thought I had a chance, but it was not me that hit the $100,000+ --- darn. I have hit one of the minor hits for about $30 one time.

Table Mountain seems to attract a little rougher crowd than other casinos in the area. I got pan handled one time while playing. Also, one time I was playing up the hill at the Chuk and a gal told me she did not feel comfortable playing there anymore....I understand the feeling.

I'll make sure and use my points up soon. Thanks for the reminder!!!

Fresno's a tough town. Of course, what big city isn't? But drive through some spots and you'll see camps of homeless people. Big gang problem too.

$25 per 10,000. They also have regular double point days, and some triple points days too if you attain higher status. It's quite decent, actually.

As I said before, Chukchansi gets it because it has a hotel (and last time I checked had 8/5 BP STP machines)
However, Table Mountain has some decent vP also...just no hotel (but I remember the seafood buffet on Wednesday night used to be pretty good; I actually used to drive down JUST for that, lol)
