T.I. Comps

I don't stay at the T.I. anymore because I don't like their machine
selection. And, every time I/ve gone into that high limit area with
the better paying machines I've lost money. Very quickly.

Having said that, their comp policy is easy to remember: You need
7500 points per day for RFL status (the buffet is fine, especially
for weekend dinners, but the remodeled coffee shop is sub-par). At 3
points per dollar, that's $22500 coin in. Next door, the Mirage is
12000 points or $36000 coin in at that level, but you get a much
better selection of non-gourmet restaurants and a mini-bar to raid.

RFB at the T.I., which gets you the gourmet restaurants, show tickets
and a limo isn't that much higher than RFL at 10000 points per day
($30,000 coin in). You'll dine 1000 times better for that 2,500
points difference.

To upgrade an RFL or RFB room to a better view or small suite, add a
few thousand more points per day. And a few more thousand for
something even nicer.

Approach an executive level host if your loss is substantial, even if
your points are not. Airfare reimbursement is not impossible here.

Your average will appear better if you get your cash back and stop
playing before midnight the night before you check out. A host
glancing quickly at your play sometimes will count that checkout day
as a "stay day" if there is activity on your card, thus ruining your
average. Best to show zero activity there, enjoy a leisurely
breakfast and check out.

I used to stay at the TI maybe 3 times a year with a room comp through a mail offer. I never used a host. I have not been able to go there for several years and the mail offers stopped coming. I now have a trip planned and I called to see if I could get a room offer based on my previous play. I was told that after 18 months they wipe your record clean and I had to pay full price.

Should I have been more persistant? Should I ask to speek ot a host? Or should I just play and see if they will comp the rooms at checkout? Any advice appreciated.

Yes, your play disappears after 18 months.

If you play $22500/day they should remove your room charge and all
non-gourmet food. If you play $30,000/day they should comp all
gourmet food for two as well. Speak to an executive level host- and
DO NOT go lower.

I have no idea what a room only comp would require.

I would have talked with a host to get an upfront commitment, or
at least a better idea of what my play level would cover.

You might also consider somewhere other than TI if you have
a more recent history elsewhere.
