This is not video poker, but they have removed the 99.9%+ $1 ClassIc Blackjack from all the Shockwave Machines that I was aware of. I verified the $1 9/6 JoB game still exists.
Sycuan Downgrades Video BJ
lol They did the same to me up north about a year ago. Broke my heart. I loved those games. I don't know about Sycuan, but up here I never saw anyone who could play them worth a damn. All ploppies, so I don't know why they took them off. All that remains is some screwy version of Blackjack and some keno/slot games and some crappy video poker schedules that rarely go barely positive if the third progressive goes high enough. These are interesting machines from an interesting company back east. I think I could make some improvements on them if I had a say.

They took them down because of Casino Consultants with
spreadsheets who convince people they are a bottom line
loss with no upside to having them.
It's just like the consultants who tell Burger King owners
not to participate in the Buck Whopper promotions.
Yes if you add the cost of the rent and staff into it, they
might lose a quarter on them, but it's new, found business.
And people end up buying french fries, etc...
Having some FP VP seems to me to draw interest and
excitement, not to mention that it's pretty rare for folks
to study and practice the games to get 'em right.
You just can't have every person interested in playing
50% Ev Keno and 80% 100 play penny slots.
It's the same reason an all you can eat buffet has
crab legs AND pizza AND soup AND bread.
I don't see the Red Rock going out of business any
time soon and they have tons of FP VP.

At Sycuan, they were getting some skilled play on point multiplier days.

The RF reset on the $1 9/6 JOB are typically $2,500 or $1,250 per the casino. You can verify those machines on the manufacturer's website.

Okay, I will spill the beans on these machines.
The 12.x versions had a bug on the double up feature so it was easy to double up and get $800 when you play $10 (usually the max bet) and get $800 AFTER getting a BJ and win the max 5 double ups. The current version are 14.x
BTW, the machine does not pay 99.9% due to some bugs, your 6-card hand will lose to a dealer's 6-card hand if neither hand busts (I kept the photos). In some versions, the dealer had a seventh card (I also have those photos). The random generator was bad, it was very easy to lose $2,000 straight at $10 a hand. To lose a 200-unit bankroll consistently on a breakeven game defies randomness. In econometrics, we call it serial correlation (i.e. RHO) -- it was very easy to predict what the dealer will have once it had a bad seed. Don't get me wrong, the random generator uses an acceptable psuedo-random generating software as verified by Gambing Labs, Inc (I have a copy of that report), but it is not as robust as IGT, respectively. BTW, VPgenius.com has an article about random generators in layman's terms. I am an expert on randomness since that is my specialty in the games that I invent (I don't have a PhD, but I spent years working with the gaming manufacturers so I picked up a few things or two).
FWIW, I know a team of pro's that hustled very old keno machines because the pseudo random generators weren't very good (it was cutting edge when the machines came out, but dated over time plus the casinos were too cheap to replace the machines) meaning repeatable patterns could be discerned. This is NOT like the case in Canada were the keno machines started with the same seed each day!
Sycuan used to have $100 max bet on those BJ machines. Those were the good days.
In summary, it was 99.9% on paper for ISD VBJ, but all the BJ players that I shared data with did not hit expectations, and made money due to cash back and other bonuses. To get the 99.9% claim, the player had to know perfect BS, all the composition dependent hands, AND the 6-card auto winner rules. It's what I call the MickeyCrimm disease -- MC claimed IGT's VBJ game was over 100%, but he doubled counted some rules. IGT's game return 99.7% because your split ace BJ could push with a dealer's multi-card 21 as well as some weird quirks.

The 9/6 JoB I was referring to are on the IGT machines behind the glass doors and near the sportsbar. I am pretty sure some of the dollar games pay 4000 for a royal. I can double check when I'm there in a couple weeks.

I bet a few years ago...Fitz in Reno had some of these machines (they required the use of a "pen" to select numbers!)
