I still have a slight suspicion that some machines may not be entirely
random. Call me superstitious. But I prefer to play on a machine where I have
hit a royal flush (or seen someone do it), or have won jackpots, if I have
that option. So if I am playing in casino X, and I have hit a royal or have had
generally good luck on machine #3 on row #2, I will keep going back to that
machine over and over (assuming I don't find anything too contrary over a
number of later visits). Sometimes I'll find a bank of machines that seems
good, and I'll just play at that bank rather than experimentally visit a random
bank of the same type of machines elsewhere in the casino. I figure it can't
hurt, and maybe it can help.
