Super DDBP

I came across this game recently. It offers 15 (count em) winning
hands. This compares to 9/6JB with 9, and regular DDBP with 13. To
figure the return it's necessary to use the "user define" feature of
WinPoker. After making a few mistakes defining the kickers, I
believe the return is 99.48% and the variance is 51.5. So the return
is about the same as 9/6JB. I'd appreciate it if someone would take
the trouble to repeat the "user define" process, in the event I made
an error. The quad jackpots that involve J, Q, K cards make it quite
different from standard DDBP. Here's the pay table.
RF: 4000
SF: 250
Quad Aces w/2,3,4: 2000
Quad Aces w/J,Q,K: 1600
Quad 2,3,4 w/A,2,3,4: 800
Quad J,Q,K w/J,Q,K,A: 800
Quad Aces: 800
Quad 2,3,4: 400
Quad 5-K: 250
FH: 35
F: 25
S: 20
3ofK: 15
2Pair: 5
JorB: 5

I think you've still got it wrong. The full pay version is 8-5 and I
have that at 99.6859%.

I think you need one more line for j,q,k with no j,q,k,a kicker.

I checked the paytable again (today) and I had it right. Perhaps the
Quad J,Q,K (without a kicker) shows up elsewhere ... don't know.
This was a $5 machine ($25 max bet), and it is 7/5 versus the 8/5 you
mentioned.

Since it's an IGT game, I thought I might learn more on the IGT
website. I didn't check every nook and crany, but I did not find
anything about this game ... absolutely nothing, even using their
search facility. Kind of odd, it seems to me. They promote a lot of
stuff on their site, but not one word about Super DDBP.

Sorry, I was not referring to the machines' paytable but to the
configuration using winpoker. Since there is a line for "J,Q,K
w/kicker", you will need a separate line in winpoker for J,Q,K
without a kicker. If you combine this with 5-10 (5-K in your case)
you will double count the value of 250 whenever there is a kicker.

Hope this is more clear.

I assume to make them compatible with the program logic.

I worked on this and came up with 100.498%,VAR 50.97876 using the 8/5
model. 15 pays with 4 of a Kind 5-K at 250. Super Double Bonus has a
separate payline for 4 of a Kind J,Q,K at 600, but if you include
that in the paytable you come up with a game that pays over 105%
(we'd all love to see it!). There was no mention of where this game
was seen...

You must add the 16th line on winpoker to get the right answer of
99.6859%. Otherwise you double count as I mentioned above.

It's tricky but if you look at the 5-K line you will see JQKA set on
as kickers. You will also see these same kickers under JQK line. So,
both of these get added when have a JQK with a kicker and you are
essentially awarded 800+250=1050 credits when hit. No way to get
around this other than separating the 5-K into two lines; 5-10 with
all kickers, and JQK with all but the JQKA kickers.

Got it. Thanks. Has anyone else seen this game? I'd like to know
where and in what denoms. It could be fun to play.
Rich

Thanks for the help on this. I made this change and the return for
the 7/5 game dropped to 98.610 and at 8/5 is the 99.6859 figure you

I agree. I first found this "problem" when I programmed another bonus
game (blackjack bonus). I believe when actually playing you'll only
get paid for the first line that satifies the criteria. Probably in
the order you have them specified. I had hit a 4K with a blackjack
(actually any jack since winpoker isn't able to handle individual
cards) and only got credits for a normal 4K.

My first thought is it shouldn't be too difficult to "catch" this
problem. You'd need to build a table with all the cards and all the
kickers. Then, as each 4K is processed fill in the table indicating
each kicker. If one was already filled in then generate an error.
Might be more difficult than I think ...
