It's not on the Strip, but Silverton has the game for 5¢, 25¢, and $1 at
the 8/5 level (99.69%). I've not seen it this high elsewhere.

We stopped by Silverton last week to check the place out. we like it - may give them a go one day.

When we pulled up and started to play a guy jumped from a chair in an adjacent bank and just kinda started grunting - "oh, Oh, oh...." I thought he might be having a heart attack or something - but no, he was dealt a royal on $1 5 play something - not sure what. It was either this game or Triple DB. Either way it was pretty cool - he was waiting to get a W2 for the quads 2's he hit on the mavhine besides it. Geez, hit a W2, and then a dealt royal waiting for the hand pay.

  Reminds me of the Peanuts strip where Lucy tells Charlie Brown that you "win some, lose some" "Gee, that would be nice" sighed Chuck......(-;

99.69% sounds good!
What is the variance on this game?
Is it similar to Super Double Bonus or Triple Double Bonus?

Thanks.
Gilbert

The variance is almost 51 --- which is very high. Higher than SDB
(variance 38) and much lower than TDB (variance 98).

For those interested, I will be giving a free class in this game at 12
noon (at Silverton) on Tuesday July 31.

You knew intuitively, Gilbert, that the variance would be "up there",
as any game with kickers usually is. I would love this game more
EXCEPT it isn't always an enhanced version of its cousin, Super Double
Bonus. That's because the value of 4 J,Q or K isn't 600 in this game,
it is the "traditional" 250. It is only the kicker that makes it
super, jumping the value of the four J,Q or K to 800. But, you do also
get one of those cards as a kicker to four aces for a nice 1600. That
helps you rebound if you're down, as now half the deck is a kicker to
any four aces hand you are lucky enough to get.

Preview of Bob's class:

1) with trip J/Q/K and big kicker, draw one
2) with QJ98, draw one; with QJT8, draw three
3) draw one to all 2 pair except with AA
4) generally hold A over two non-suited pay cards except QJ

I would say 99.68, but that's kind of splitting hairs.

Close enough, so far as it goes. The rules concerning various 3-card
straight flushes combined with either two high cards or 4-card inside
straights aren't here, and they are a bit different than other games,
but using these rules will definitely get you most of the way there.
This assumes, of course, you already know "basic" strategy for games
based on Jacks or Better with flushes equal to 5 and two pair equal to
1. Many players don't accurately know those basics or how they differ
from flush equal 6 rules or two pair equal 2 rules.

If all players could follow rules like these and make correct choices,
there would certainly not be a need for my classes. But many players
need to hear it rather than see it, and need to be shown the hands that
do and do not meet these rules, which is why there are about 50 example
hands in each class.

You used to come to my classes, Paladin, when you were starting out. I
agree that you've progressed to the level that you don't need them any
more but that's because you're far ahead of most players, both IQ-wise
and VP-wise. It's not reasonable to assume that the simplified rules
that work for you will work for everyone else.

Never attended any of your classes. I play very little in LV, and most
of what I play in LV isn't posted on VPFree.
