Sunday/Monday at Mohegan

Spent Sunday and Monday at Mohegan: This basic low-roller member (no
Wolf Status) received a few incentives to spur the trip:

+ Peter anad Gordon playing Free at Wolf Den Sunday Night
+ A $49 Sunday Night Room Offer via a monthly mailer
+ 20 Free Points for showing up.

Played $1 (5 coin) Pick'em in the Sky Casino. Hit four nines after
about 15 minutes of breakeven play. Played awhile more staying up
about $500.

Hit MJ's bar and watched Celtics and Red Sox. Great food with
reasonable prices in Pub section. Long wait for a table, so walked up
to two empty seats at the bar and immediately got served.

Celtics killed the Hawks start to finish.

Peter and Gordon - Show pretty good (with a few weak spots in the
middle)

A highlight was that the kekboard player was one of the main members
of Badfinger and he performed an exceptional version of one of their
big hits, "Day After Day".

For those unfamilar with the song, (although a hit in the 1970s, it
is now aired in New England frequently in a commercial honoring the
Kevin Garnett coming to the Boston Celtics. It's amost like the song
was made for the commercial as opposed to
vice versa.

"I remember finding out about you
Every day my mind is all around you
Looking out from my lonely room
Day after day
Bring it home
Baby make it soon
I give my love to you."

Anyway, he did a spot-on version of the song. Would have liked to
have
heard more from him.

Overall the P&G backup band was excellent (brought back memories).

We ate dinner after the concert at Ben & Jerry's.

My wife played some 8/5 $0.25 bonus poker in the non-smoking rear
section of the earth casino and won about $20 overall.

On Monday, I went to the Earth Casino to play $1 pick'em in the temp
high limit area (old poker room).

The entire left side of the room that has been designated the temp hi-
limit area was ripped apart. The only thing left in place was the
front row (back to back) bank of slantops including the $1 pick'em,
machines. But they were roped off and not accessible.

Rather than take the long walk back the sky casino, I played teh
$0.25 pick'ems on the right side of the room for awhile. For the
first time ever, I played two machines at once. Actually it was much
less boring than playing only one pick'em machine. Pick'em can get
boring after awhile.

The overall amount of points I accumulated this trip considering the
amonut of play is still very disappointing. Eventually my bankroll of
accummulated points from the 1.10% comp point era will be gone and I
doubt I'll contimue to make the long trip very frequently.

Like this trip, unless there is a confluence of incentives occuring
at the same time, I'll stay home or perhaps make an extra trip or two
to vegas where matchplays, and truely postiive LDWs, and DB are
available in $1.00 denomination offstrip and even some FPDW at $0.50
if you look hard enough.

Anyway left up $500 and wife left up $20.

So overall it was both fun and lucrative.
