I think we would all like to believe that the Suncoast was suffering because
of the downgrading of VP. I was there yesterday at around noon and thought
business was just fine for a Tuesday afternoon. I bowl there once a week and
haven't noticed much difference in the number of people playing the machines
since the changes.
Most people will play DDB (9-6) over DB (10-7) and don't have a clue as to
what the difference in the pay tables means.
Eliminating "advantage" players will not hurt the casino's bottom line. There
may be a conscious effort to do so. Why cater to the few who regularly beat
the house?
Station Casinos is now advertising better than 100% payback on some games.
This may help to keep some playable games in town, but most of the players
still rely on a rabbit's foot instead of understanding the pay tables.
