Suncoast wakes up & smells the coffee

I was at the Suncoast earlier tonight to use a food coupon that
expired today. I noticed a few signs in the casino regarding a 2X
points promotion that will apparently run from midnight Saturday to
midnight Thursday each week.

It's good to see they finally decided to at least try and compete with
Red Rock. As another observation of how their business has slacked
off, I was at the Suncoast around noon to cash a couple of sports bet.
I noticed there was absolutely no one in the buffet line; this is the
first time I can ever recall seeing no one in line.

Now if we could just get some slot exec to sprinkle a few 10/6 DDB and
10/7 DB through out the place; why then it might actually be a REAL

they want action all they need to do is put in 30 FPDW games and
make the cash back to .6%. Ill leave the Hilton for that.

It's because everyone is eating at Red Rock, as far as I can tell.
Even in the VIP/Handicapped line (and it's 75% handicapped) you might
have to wait 15 minutes to be seated at 2pm. The RR buffet is actually
very good, almost the equal of Rampart's (Regent's) old Market Square
Buffet. I have found the Coast buffets average at best, in fitting
with their mid-line marketing strategy.

Oops. Possible player error. The Suncoast mailer that arrived today
says noon Sunday through noon Friday. Perhaps I read the signage in
the casino incorrectly.

Even so, it isn't enough to compete with Red Rock's 5X points on
Monday and Tuesday this week, along with the Daily Jumbo Jackpot.
But at least the Suncoast is competing with the Rampart's 2X points
on Sunday.

Oh, and did I mention the signs in the Suncoast announcing the poker
room is opening mid-July? Nice effort guys; only took 9 months to
build a poker room. Meanwhile, the whole Queensridge towers across
the street have practically been built.

Note to Boyd Gaming senior management: the Suncoast casino manager
should be fired.
