Suncoast shooting!!! XVP

First off, every situation is - quite obviously - different. Second, the
husband - by his own words - was taunting the gunman. His poor wife apparently
paid the price for his macho bravado.

And yes - I have been in a similar situation and lived to tell about by,
among other things, NOT taunting the guy with the gun.

Since generally this will be someone who is not a 'professional,' thus, not cool, the worst thing to do would be to taunt him, I'd think. I don't know how I'd act but I think I'd sure hand over anything he wanted and try to move away.

To what extent is a Licensed Gaming Establishment civilly responsible
for maintaining security upon its own premises?

Especially relevant in view of general reluctance to pay out W2G-size
winnings by check, as opposed to currency. Such payouts tend to be
made in full public view . . .

Whenever I happily incur a WG2 event, I always request my winnings in
the form of a check. I have NEVER been turned down for this. As a
female, usually traveling alone in Nevada, if I was hassled about this
request, I would be very firmly insistent on being accomodated. I
would go so far as to to call the NCC, if necessary. There is
absolutely no reason to have to walk around, for even a few minutes,
with a lot of cash on your person.
