Subtitled: most VP players seen today either are totally clueless or
just don't care. But they do care enough to use the floor as an
ashtray, even thougn a glass ashtray was right next to the machine.
I saw it for myself today. There has been a wholesale gutting of VP
paytables, at least at the 25c level (excluding the Optimum Plays).
A typical Multi-Game machine I used to play had 9/6 JOB, 8/5 Bonus,
9/7 DB, and 9/6 DDB. The whole row. Now? 8/5 JOB, 7/5 Bonus, 9/6 DB,
and 9/5 DDB.
I did some real searching and found one bank near the Cafe that
still had 9/6 JOB, but all the other games had been downgradeed to
the above. Yet on the other side of a column, the Multi-Games on
that side of the row had 8/5 Bonus, 9/7 DB, and 9/6 DDB. But no JOB.
Another thing I noticed is at the bottom of the escalator from the
parking garage, the bank of nickel Triple Play machines no longer
have a progressive. I never really played that bank, but it was
always interesting to see that progressive signage.
I think I said it months ago. The Suncoast is morphing into a slot
house. But...over and over on the ceiling speakers, all I heard
today was the Suncoast now offers 5X odds on craps. Wow, that's
impressive. Two tables were open at 4PM; there were maybe 12
players.

Looked around Suncoast some more today. The two banks
of over-100% payback uprights are still going strong.
The one bank of slant-tops with video poker has had
the six 99%+ games downgraded.
FWIW there are many 3/5 play uprights there with
25c/50c/$1/$2/$5/$10 9/7 DB and 9/6 DDB.
The database has been updated.
