Sun Xmas Bonus poll

MS is a prime example of diminishing returns at a certain point. For
example, 2 years ago I got $1,600. That dropped to $700 last year (with abount 75%
of the play). This year I got $800 with more than twice the amount of play
as last year.

Looking at the poll results.
Dori got $250 after just getting her card and doing $25K(?)/day
action twice.
Their software could be complicated with "if" statements. May even
be human intervention in determining bonus cash for top 1000
gamblers and new gamblers.

They gave out the gift cards based on your theo and I think it was

10 different groupings. Dori was in 6 and I was in 3 but they totally
screwed up mine. I was originally not even on the list for anything
and my hosts boss was not going to do much about it. She told me this
happened to several of her best players. Dori got a total of 300 and I
got 400. She told me should would help make up for the low amount I
got. The most anyone got was a total of 1000 and that was for the
highest level players

It might help to remember that these extra bonuses they give out from
time to time is coming not from VIP services, but from the marketing
dept., which really should be called the test marketing dept. We
know the thrust of their normal comps come from avg. daily theo;
however, it's the job of a marketing dept. to find and establish new
criteria that might prove to better the yield, and this is a constant
ongoing process. They have hundreds of stats on us and part of test
marketing is to isolate and test one factor at a time to see if it
shows significance. So it should be no surprise if your bonus,
birthday gift, gas card, gift card, etc. is occasionally out-of-line
from a normal time period.

Remember only a couple years ago, they had no penny slots, and the
few nickel machines were hid in the deep dark corner of the Hall of
the Lost Slot Player. The Sun had to add a few penny machines when
the Woods started promoting them in their basement dungeon. All of a
sudden, those penny machines became impossible to get onto and most
people were betting $.40-$.80/play which was higher than a lot of
quarter players. Who would have thunk it? They undervalued that
people are really attracted to playing multiple lines and having the
machine light up like a Xmas tree. Now you can a find penny slots on
that monstrous Wheel of Fortune machine, that takes up the space of a
small car dealership, minus a model turning over letters (whom I'm
expecting they will add once they complete the new addition.)

Stevie,

This is what I received for the Christmas Bonus:

last year $75 and $75 (became Sagamore in October)
this year $125 and $75 (still Sagamore)

The weekend of the 9th/10th is going to be a zoo with everyone wanting
to use their coupons. I may drive down during the week to not have to
face the crowds.

I guess some of the stores sent out gift cards or some discount/promo
items. I had heard that Chico's was mobbed this past weekend. I was at
MS on Saturday and when I was leaving, I saw someone in the garage
with 7 large paper Coach shopping bags. Each of the bags had a box or
more in them. I'll bet that was an expensive shopping trip.

Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Jack
