Substituting 'Gaffed' Software for 'Fair' Software

You may be correct in regard to casinos that use their own proprietary
software.

But, what about casinos that use another company's casino software?

Microgaming is one of the reputable online casino software companies.
Everything I have read, for many years, suggests that the games are honest
at casinos using Microgaming. (That's not to say all casinos using
Microgaming software are honest. They can easily choose not to pay after a
win, regardless of how the money was won.)

Assuming that Microgaming software is honest. If, a casino imitated
Microgaming's software ('gaffed' software), wouldn't Microgaming find out
about it and then do something about it?

Or, maybe you meant 'gaffed' software was real software that has been
tampered with? I don't believe that casinos have that capability when using
third-party software, like Microgaming.

Bottom Line: I think the games are fair when using reputable third-party
software.

FWIW, I believe that the major online live poker sites
offer fair games. I know and trust some principals at
a couple of these sites and they make their money
from the rake rather than from player's results.

OTOH, I will never trust online video poker sites until
their is effective regulation. Even if anecdotal evidence
is favorable, in a house banked game IMO there's too
much temptation to use gaffed software on occasion.
Anyone know how easy it is to use or substitute gaffed
software for fair software?
