Subject: The machines are gaffed! (was Re: Changes in bankroll)

Do not pretend to see patterns in randomly occurring events - it's only
going to exhaust you.

I am a member of RNG Anonymous. I want to know how this all works. I want to
test how Nevada (the only state I have faith in) does this. Shouldn't this
be public knowledge?

I use to be skeptical in the patterns I saw while gambling. Then I
programmed FVP and saw the same damned patterns. I concluded it wasn't the
RNG, but me.

While I'm reforming my ways, I still want to know how it all works.

The state examines the algorithm used to produce the cards. It does
not allow the casino to modify this algorithm.

Sounds logical to me, but what is your source?

they verify this based on 10000000s of trials, not on a
certain pay schedule or which cards make which hands...all that
matters is that the "random draw" results in a good distribution over
10000000s of hands and that there is no pattern to the rng's bias

"For gaming devices that are representative of live gambling games,
the mathematical probability of a symbol or other element appearing
in a game outcome must be equal to the mathematical probability of
that symbol or element occurring in the live gambling game. For other
gaming devices, the mathematical probability of a symbol appearing in
a position in any game outcome must be constant."

Hey Dan, do you know how they test for this, or do they examine the
algorithm?
