Strategy tables on the PDA

Be aware that Nevada (like almost all states with casinos) considers using
any electronic device to help play a casino game as a felony.
It is usually okay to bring strategy charts on paper or a laminated card
into a casino. Note that many casinos sell such charts for 21 and some sell
them for video poker too.

Does anyone have any strategy tables on their PDA? I have some
strategy tables on paper, but I'm not looking forward to transcribing
them electrontically so they view well on a PDA. Has this work been
done for me already?

I fully agree that actual use of any electronic device, within the
gaming area of a Nevada casino, would place one on legally-shaky
grounds. A couple of additional points, however:
A. The actual Nevada Law (465.075, text attached) is rather loosely
drafted. It is "far from clear" whether mere possession of a laptop,
with frugal vp/similar installed, in the lobby of a hotel/casino
while checking in, would constitute grounds for prosecution.
B. I am not aware of any other state having enacted any similar law.

Text of 465.075 . .
  NRS 465.075 Use of device for calculating probabilities. It is
unlawful for any person at a licensed gaming establishment to use, or
possess with the intent to use, any device to assist:

      1. In projecting the outcome of the game;

      2. In keeping track of the cards played;

      3. In analyzing the probability of the occurrence of an event
relating to the game; or

      4. In analyzing the strategy for playing or betting to be used
in the game,

Êexcept as permitted by the Commission.

I would imagine that, within the "letter of the law", even a notebook and a=

pencil can be construed as "devices" to be banned?

Maybe the wording of the law should have read "electronic device" ???

Certainly the term "device" can have a really broad meaning.

   There's a rather amusing story (unintentional) by Ion Saliu, about
his efforts to beat the casinos using mathematics and keeping notes
at the tables, and the trouble he got into. If you picture "William
Hung" (for those of you who know who W.H. is) as Ion, it will add to
the fun. Go to:
