The game in question is 9/6 JOB-- no High Cards, other than the Ace.
The best reason to choose suited Ace, Ten over just the Ace is that
you're playing a progressive machine and the Royal is greater than or
equal to 4368 coins. Just be sure there are no flush penalty
cards--that would be another card in the same suit as the Ace,
Ten--with a flush penalty the threshold for the Ace,Ten choice goes to
greater than or equal to 5285 coins.<

A very good point, but again it assumes you are attempting to maximize
EV instead of one of the alternative goal strategies. If you want to
use a min-cost-royal or best-shot-royal, then, according the the
charts, suited AT is better than just the A.
It's true that my objective is to maximize my ER, Expected Return--WinPoker supports this goal.
If you have an alternative goal, then your strategy should support that goal, as should your practice software.
If it's non-progressive JOB--goal of max ER--then Ace only is a better hold than suited Ace,Ten. If you have an alternative goal or a progressive Royal is greater than or equal to the number of coins listed above, then the suited Ace, Ten may be a better hold. However, in any of these situations the Flush penalty is a significant consideration. Note that the threshold for a progressive Royal without the Flush penalty is 913 coins less than with a Flush penalty--this translates to making it worthwhile to check for a Flush penalty before you choose to hold the suited Ace, Ten combo.
