No loss. Run Frugal VP or VPSM at regular intervals like every 500. For a
given progressive hand (say RF), you'll find that you can do a linear
approximation from the last 2 pts to the next interval of 500 & come quite close. For
larger intervals, you'll note that it's a geometric progression. I haven't taken
the time to plot & fit curves through these. Maybe one of our math wizards can
tell us what type & order of polynomial(s) would make the best general fit.
Frankly, it's not a practical use of time but it seems like we have a lot of
people who like to solve puzzles.
The lazy way is to graph it & use the curve-fitting functions in Excel or
SPSS. Of course, you take it on faith that it's right on.

I used this method to determine the after-tax breakpoints in the 8-5
Bonus and Aces & Faces progressives I play in Mississippi. I would
like to have Dancer's articles as a reference. If I'd known the
archives would be truncated I would have printed them. Are the old
