Strat and AC Using Points

FYI in case you all did not know. We have a bunch of comps at AC Decateur
and wanted to use them at Top of the World at Strat. Well what a bummer. You
have several options here, none very convenient and some downright scary to one
who is terrified of elevators and heights, namely moi! You can go to the
ground floor concierge, pick what you are going to eat at TOW, go to Reward
center and get a comp....or you can sail right up that wonderful, terrifying
elevator and eat, then sail back down, go to Reward Center get the comp, and sail up
again, pay and back down, and then head for the emergency room in a basket.
Swiping your card, surely you jest? Thankyou Mr. Icahn for your zillionaire
logic, NOT.

Shirl in Las Vegas who is still trying to decide if it is worth the terror,
upchucking the dinner is not an option.

I take it this is one of the lovely properties that screw you if you
take a liberal comp in advance of going to the restaurant, and then
don't use it all (i.e. they don't add the unused portion back to your
account)?

Here is the way the "linked" system works:
1.Although one card can be used at the 3 properties, one of those
properties is your "home" base. This is usually the place were you
originally signed up.
    2. When you play at other than your "home" base, when you first put in
the card, your comp and cash balance will be 0/0 on the card reader.
    3. After a few hands, pull your card and reinsert it. you will now see
your actual cash and comp balance.
    4. Playing a few hands is the key to getting your comp and cash balance
moved. So if you want to eat at the Stratosphere TOW, playing a few hands
before dinner would transfer your account, and after dinner hand your card
to the waiter and he can deduct the meal from your account.
    5. When ever you play at other than your "home" base, although your
account balance shows up after a few hands, the account is transferred back
to your "home" base at the end of the day.
    6. You can tell which is your home base by looking at the numbers on
your card. If the first number is 1, then Decatar is your home base, if it's
2 than Boulder is you home base, and I am not sure but if it's 3 then
Stratosphere is your home base.
