Friday George and I went to Orleans to redeem our money coupons and play and eat. He put his card in the reader and it said "Invalid" - no points. We tried it 5-6 times. Nothing but Invalid. He went to the slot desk and they told hm that he had been "captured" by South Coast. South Coast had taken his account from Orleans, made it their own and issued him a new account number. Isn't this called "Slamming" when the phone company does it without your permission? We have never played a point at South Coast.
After playing - getting a new card and having his points put back on the new card at Orleans, we went to cash our coupons. They would not cash his because the numbers did not match. All the monthly coupons were "Invalid". They were very nice about it, the cashier called the slot club manager - Jeannie Kessler - and she went back and made new coupons, or something to that effect, and he got his money.
Yesterday - 2x points - we return to Orleans. The card says "Welcome George" - 0 points. We tried this 5-6 times and he went to the club and asked that Jeannie please see him when she got there. She was no more than 15 minutes and told him she would make sure this time he had a card that worked, would show his acutal points, and would give him double points for the day. After an hour the problem is hopefully solved, but what a pain in the butt!
Just a heads up to anyone who finds their card "Invalid". Jeannie said that they had encountered this before. The only thing we can figure out is that South Coast does not have the required number of initial sign ups and someone decided to up the figure by slamming accounts. Does anyone else have a explanation better than that one?
Cheers!
Bonnie
