STP

Even though STP on 9/6 JOB is 99.82% and 9/6 JOB is one of the least rocky video poker games, STP 9/6 JOB can go through a wad of cash in a hurry.

Multiplier comes up every 15 hands. Out of 40 multipliers, you will get 2,3,4,5 times 9 times each and the 8 and 10 times multiplier 2 times each. So you only get the 10x mulitplier once every 300 dealt hands. Since you are putting up an extra coin for every hand, you are increasing the amount wagered and the mulitpliers add to the possible number of hand payouts. When you increase the number of paying hands and the magnitude of the payout, you increase the variation of the game. Since you are increasing the bet per deal, that also increases the variance.

Playing a pretty quick 5 play 9/6 JOB STP, I went through $1000 in less than 3 hours. I was keeping tracking of the multiplier payouts ( which slowed me down). I don't think I put $10K coin in through. As I looked at my results, $200 of the loss came from the base game and $800 came from the multiplier.

It's a fun game but it can eat through your wallet in a hurry.

It's volatility surprised me when I first started playing this game. I
often find myself licking my wounds at a regular JB machine while dreaming
of 10X dealt royals after a STP session.

This should be obvious, but it might be a useful point to clarify for
those not familiar with this game that these multiplier frequencies are
*averages*. You never really know when the multiplier will show up.
Otherwise, you could play one coin per spin 14 hands in a row, then Max
Bet on the 15th hand to qualify for the multiplier. Now THAT would be
fun!
