stolen voucher

Another scam is that someone sits at a machine in a row and plays say 1 cent
- then cashes out the voucher but leaves it sticking in machine and walks
away. Someone playing a few seats away notices the voucher sticking out and
gets up and gets it. Meanwhile someone else comes by and cashes out the greedy
player's machine.

That is very clever, misscraps!
I am wondering if there are any other people on this board (in addition to
Ms. $¢ott) who have had money stolen from them - or somehow otherwise lost
money.
I live in L.A. and I have visited Las Vegas two-three times a month for
many years. Am I lucky that I have never been the target of a scam? Or, are
these scams so rare that most of us (in this group) have not had any
problems?
However, I have to say that, thanks to this thread, I will be more cautious
from now on.

As with all scams... it's pretty hard to be taken in, if you don't get
greedy... That's not to say that someone trying to help someone else
out might not get caught up in a scam, but most of the time, it's
because the person that got scamed thought they'd make some quick,
easy money.

The worst casino for this is the Four Queens. I used to play the
dollar progressive where it drops coins at 400. I cannot tell you how
many times someone would walk up and ask me for a $1 for the bus or
food, and while I was busy telling them No...someone else would try to
grab some of the coins. I even had a woman actually put her hand in
the tray & try to grab coins while I was scooping them. Numerous
times I have told security and they always act as though they are
going to get the person but nothing has ever happen.

I absolutely agree with you, Miss Deuces.

Many years ago, when I stayed/played regularly at the 4 Queens, I used
to play near the exit across from Fitzgeralds, early in the morning.
Rarely, did I enjoy a session w/o a street person begging me for
handout. If they responded quickly to my firm "NO!", I ignored the
annoyance. If they persisted, I yelled loudly for security. That
usually chased away the pest quickly. It was a good thing too, as it
took security a while to respond. They'd glance around for the now
departed street person, than shrug and leave. Once I was told that "I
shouldn't play so close to the street exit!" I don't play at the 4
Queens anymore, but apparently not much has changed.
