Dan (and everyone),

This message is one sent from the Netsky virus. It doesn't mean that you have the virus, although you could. These viruses steal email addresses from people's address books and fake the addresses they are sent from. I would run a virus scan to see if you have the virus.

Try these free ones if you don't have a virus scanner already:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm

Also, you should check Microsoft's Windows update website to see if you have all the latest patches. I would suggest at least once a week, and some versions of windows allow you to automatically install these updates with no intervention from you.

Dan - It's the remnants of a virus-laden Spam. Being a Macintosh user, I guess you're not used to seeing such things.

Modern Windows-based viruses have the ability to reach into an MS Outlook Contacts Folder, retrieve some of the email addresses it finds, then use those addresses as the return address on infected messages it sends out.

Pretty clever, eh? Can your fancy Macintosh do that? HUH? HUH? I didn't think so!

Um, tell me again why Bill Gates is not in jail?

Yes, it does seem like a virus is the most likely answer, but how
did you identify it as the Netsky worm (by the subject?). Not likely
from Dan's MAC. If it is, it would be the first virus to have a
positive effect - putting an end to the MAC folks bragging about
being immune to viruses<g>.
