At triple play, holding four cards, ANY first card drawn is okay. So you just
have to "match" it twice, which happens one time in 47 squared, or once in
2209 draws. If you SPECIFY the card in advance of the draw, then your number is
correct for drawing that particular card all three times.

The chances of being dealt a Royal in a 52 card deck game is one in 649,740.

only prior to the first draw. After the first card, the odds of two
more are 47 squared. After the second draw, the odds of the third
card are 1/47, or the same as it would be in single line play.

It's 50/50. It either happens, or it doesn't! <G> All kidding aside, the first draw should be disregarded and the resulting 47 squared, 2209, are the odds of it happening. Large, but not all that unrealistic.

Yes, you guys are correct. The odds that Brian and I quoted are for
predicting that a specific card will turn up three times in a row. In
this case, you don't know what the card is until the first one is
drawn.
