Stations March Mailer - YUCKY!!

Jerlicki cannot help you - he already understands the problems - but
final say is at corporate - all the people at corporate are clueless -
to those of you who are not APs and are willing to use your own names
and be public, I would suggest starting a petition or sending a joint
letter to Frank Fertitta who I think is too focused on developing new
casino projects and is oblivious to the shortcomings of the people he
has running corporate marketing. I'm not even sure there is anyone is
charge which part of the problem. It is the blind leading the blind.

But in a nutshell here is the issue, they gave you XPC for points,
granted it is less than what most of the Strip gives, but these guys
think they deserve a Congressional Medal of Honor for doing this.
Hence. they had to take something else away - in their minds.

Yes, he's new.

There seems to be a big push at Station (at least at GVR)to cut costs.
Besides the cuts in comps there have been staff layoffs, cutbacks in
the buffet like the charging for the crab legs and eliminating some of
the more costly items, reducing the size of the wine glasses for the
wine brought to slot players, switching from Red Bull to SoBe,
reductions in slot tournament invitations, etc. Could they possibly be
trying to inflate profits short term for a possible sale? The way they
are treating their customers is certainly not going to help their
profits long term.

Just about everything in their behavior pattern has suggested that
their aim is to inflate the short-term bottom line, even to the
detriment of their business as a whole. They have effectively tripled
(or worse) the cost of gambling there just in the last couple of
years, and clearly no longer care if they alienate their customers.
This is indeed consistent with fattening up the pig for slaughter,
i.e., making Stations as a whole, or some of its properties,
available for sale.

Their debt load is Harrahsesque, and they are being hurt by the
general economic slowdown. Their response to diminishing business is
to slash services and increase prices, which seems suicidal in the
long run. So, since they are (presumably) not run by complete idiots,
the short-term bottom line has to be their ONLY concern. Perhaps they
have potential buyers out there who can't read a balance sheet and/or
don't understand the gaming business, and will only look at that
juicy cash flow that was garnered from customers who are leaving,
never to return.

They were just sold that is the problem. They took themselves private
by taking on a lot of debt. They agreed to this deal when the economy
was better, so now that have a lot more interest payments and a
slowing economy and they are feeling squeezed. If you are correct and
you vote with your feet, their cuts will lead to even less revenue
and less profits and they may end up in default. What they are trying
to do is see what they can get away with - if people keep coming
despite the cuts they make more money. Apparently, from your comments
you are still playing there, so the cuts are working for them
