stations july mailer

many players including my self had their monthly play cash reduced
to a very low level, has anyone found out what criteria stations is
using to determine free play levels? I discussed this with a host and
she seemed to be completely in the dark.

They'll probably keep on reducing it until they reach a point where the players don't even come in to play the small amount of FSP they are given. Or worse yet, come in ONLY to play the small amount....and then leave.

If you keep on playing the same amount as you usually do after the small amount is gone....guess what's going to happen? You are going to keep on getting less and less until they see your normal play fall off. Unless everyone starts going elsewhere, they are going to do nothing to bring you back.

We just returned home from Aliante Station, our "home casino" in the Station's family. Neither my wife Chris nor I received a mailer in July.

I wasn't surprised to be dropped, I was getting $5 FP and the multipliers; but we were surprised about Chris. She's Platinum, with over 90k points in the last 3 months. Although she plays mostly quarter FPDW she occasionally does some short-pay on the multiplier days. She had been getting the $15 FP, a food comp, and multipliers 3x and 6x.

We asked the supervisor on duty at the slot club why Chris was dropped and the supervisor didn't know. She could only verify that Chris received no mailer this month. She said she would call player development and ask a host to visit Chris. 3 hours of play later -- no host.

I don't think "level of play" has much to do with this. We talked with three people who I know who are much bigger players than us. None of them received mailers this month. My initial theory is; "If you play only the 100% games you're not getting a mailer no matter how big you play." This may be wrong, but I bet it's close.

We received absolutely no mailer, and this after putting in the most play we have done at a Stations in years (we don't play much any more). 75,000+ points in three months to get the Platinum card, all at $1 Bonus Poker on multiplier days. Bummer.

We had the same thing happen. Played 2 months in a row, the most in a long time...No mailers at all.
We are moving to greener pastures!

How about a poll to see how many people on this board have their Stations or Fiestas mailers and multipliers discontinued ?

I play above the platinum level and have not played over 100% machines since
the $4 coin in for 1 point was implemented.
My mailer was almost worthless , now I hear that some players didn't even
receive one, I'm beginning to think stations has
Decided not to compete with other locals casinos for video poker players.

I suppose if this was going to happen the timing is good for us. We leave in mid July and won't be back until January or February. Maybe they'll change again before our return!

If we only lost the free play and still received the 3x and 6x multiplier days it wouldn't be so bad. Here's our chain of thought...

Without multipliers, it's not worth giving them enough play on the under 100% games to maintain Platinum. Without Platinum status the buffets are too expensive (no longer 50% off) and we do hate standing in line. Which brings us back to the lack of multiplier days, and not making enough points to afford the higher priced buffets. If they continue to have the 5x points on Senior Wednesday it might work for us, but we'd have to play sub-100% machines at the dollar level on those days.

Has anyone else read the book "Who Moved My Cheese?" That book comes to mind every time something like this happens at a casino. Time to go find the new cheese!

You received no mailer because they have no margin on you - all your points on their best paying game (that hss full points accrual) and all on multiplier days (and they look at that) .

Am I wrong or does Stations make you play more $ to equal 1 point when it's a high payout game? I know at the bar at Sunset Station by the Oyster Bar, they have a $1 progressive that starts at a higher $ amount than most machines. It starts at $6000 rather than $4000. You need $2 to equal 1 point.

You got it full pay players get nothing -

Yep. tell your neighbors because the only thing that will change this is an empty casino. They are even clipping the big players hard, if you play quarters expect dirt.

This is a little scary. Do you mean to say that even people who play strictly bad pay tables are getting their mailers/bounceback cut too? Of course, that might be hard to tell because no one here knows anyone that plays like that.

And regarding quarter players, it seems to me that the casinos must be shooting themselves in the foot. Most of the time I stand behind a quarter player to watch for a moment, I rarely see proficient play. Even in Vegas, I just don't see that many good players for quarters. And in California I don't even run into good dollar players. I'm convinced there just aren't that many good players, especially at smaller denoms, so why aren't these casinos making money off of them?

What I meant was even Chairman players are getting cutbacks and every Chairman I know is a VP or table game player. No more free bet coupons for table game customers. They have it almost impossible for a machine player, reels or VP to get a discretionary comp unless you are losing tens of thousands per month and you better be losing - now most of the comp issues are at Red Rock and GVR for the big players. You can still get comps at Palace, Aliante and other places.
