Stations/Fiesta - No Rumour, It is Fact

I talked with both the Amigo Club at Fiesta Rancho and Reward Center at Texas
Station on 12-02-03. They have both been briefed that effective January 1st
2004 all full pay video poker machines will earn one point for every $2 coin
in, double what the current earning is.

What no one could tell me is, what will be the point requirements to maintain
Macho/Platinum status which has been 25,000 points per month at least in
North Las Vegas, i.e. Rancho Drive. If it remains at 25,000 points, that means it
will take $50,000 coin in instead of $25,000 to maintain your Platinum/Macxho
status. If anyone has that info please post ASAP.

I also believe that at Fiesta Rancho you will no longer be able to pick up
cash in hand, you will have to play the cash through the machine like they do at
Texas Station effective January 1st. Fiesta Rancho is going to the same
computer software as Stations.

All of this is very bad news . First discontinued discretionary comps for
full pay video poker players at Texas back in April and now doubling to $2
dollar in requirements. It is very clear they do not want people to play full pay
video poker. What is the VPQuadqueen to do? Stick with the Palms, Charlies
Decatur and go back to Sam's Town? Sigh. One thing is clear though, wherever
you play, you should consider playing only on multi point days and on fast
machines. Coin droppers will slow you down and wear you out trying to make the
points you are hoping for.

I and several others might just slop down the hill from Green Valley
and drive to The Palms. On an everyday basis, The Palms has seemed
too far for me to drive. However, since President/Platinum/Macho
Millionaire lasts for a year, why not play at the Palms whenever
possible and re-qualify at Stations when necessary? I will have to
evaluate the entire situation when and if this comes to pass. I'm
waiting to see something in writing as far as new point requirements
are concerned. I've already noticed a marked reduction in play at
Fiesta since the demise of the 5x points days. I've also found that
I have a very tough time getting a machine to my liking when I do go
over to Fiesta Henderson on Fridays.
