You want to read an excellent book, "The Case Against Lawyers," by Catherine
Crier. I agree with those points against class-action lawsuits and I refuse
to participate in them. I've got a cousin in Chicago who got rich pursuing
them as a lawyer - I don't respect this at all.

Woo hoo! My class action settlement check arrived Saturday!
I didn't even know I was a victim and had brought a lawsuit against anyone,
but I guess I must have forgot.
The check is from Bank of America and comes with a stern warning that I must
cash it before November 22, otherwise it's void and I'll lose all rights and
privileges to a settlement.
So now, I need advice. Which casino will give me the best treatment when I
wave my check for 49 cents (no, I'm not kidding) in front of the host's
face?

I wouldn't even cash it. Unfortunately, the casino has access to the names of the folks who participated in the class action (or should, presuming the law in Jersey or Nevada is the same as Arkansas), and I'm not aware of any laws the would prohibit the casino from treating you folks differently, including trespassing you. Very unfortunate.

Anyway, Carlos, I'm sure a casino host will fall down and hug your
knees over such a large gambling prospect. Wonder how much the
lawyers made off this suit?

Well, I thought I had remembered a recent post about a class action suit against one or more casinos, and either I recalled that Carlos was in that action, or perhaps I just assumed it. I don't remember what it was about, and it's not important enough to try to find it. Sorry if I confused the situation.

There was a recent class action suit vs. Station Casinos for the
energy surcharge that they had until June of this year.
The settlement included (1) $3 off and (1) $2.50 off coupon valid
towards a future stay at a Stations casino. Fine print stated that
the coupons were not valid with any other discount and could not be
combined. In other words...you must book rack rate to get your
whopping $3 off. What a joke.
