Stations $525.5K Point Challenge - Mini Challlenge 1

My personal best is only about 1100 hands per hour, but I'm not a
particularly fast player compared to some people I know.

We are talking about a single line machine here. Certainly, 1800 hands per
hour is easy on 3-play or higher, if you count all the hands.

I maintain that 1800 hands per hour on a single line machine, with strategic
accuracy, is impossible. Does anyone else claim they can play that fast?
From what I've seen, 1500 is close to an upper limit. And for 24 hours, I would
doubt that anyone could play 1400 accurately. Opinions?

possible, I know of 4 people (myself included) that can do it, and
admittedly, I know very few pros. So I am sure there are dozens of
others that can do it that I don't know. Granted, on uprights,
1600/hour is all I can muster for extended periods of time, but on
sufficiently fast slant-tops 2000/hour is doable (but over a 24 hour
period that tends to average closer to 1800). As far as whether you
believe it or not, choose whichever makes you comfortable. But if
you feel like challenging yourself, I'm sure you could do it as well.

I know a few players who can play 1300-1400 hands per hour, out of

the

hundreds of pros out there. 1800 is out of the question, and that's

with no stops

for W2-Gs (or other breaks), which occur every 400 hands or less on

a $25

machine.

Realistically, on a $25 machine, even if you have an adjacent

machine or two

in reserve, 900 hands per hour would be pretty strong. And for 24

hours, it

would be very impressive. As for 1800, dream on!

Yeah I guess, I should have explicitly stated that I am talking about
single line, as counting all hands on multi-line would
be "cheating." As far as accuracy, since I don't have a buzzer that
goes off letting me know that I've made a mistake, I can't give you
an accurate estimate of how many mistakes are made. But I am
positive that I make more mistakes playing at that rate than I would
playing slower. I will notice a few mistakes after I make them, but
I am sure that more go unnoticed than noticed. But from the results
of the measely couple of years I've been doing it, I run right around
expectancy so i would venture to guess that I can't be making too
many mistakes. Of course, having a sample set of only a couple years
worth of play may or may not be large enough to be indicative.
Obviously, everyone could double their hands per hour if they always
discarded everything, but I'm sure that would get old after you lose
$10K on a nickel machine

Now unfortunately this is starting to sound like bragging which isn't
my intent. The purpose of my original post was just to state a
matter of fact that it can be done. And if there is someone out
there who isn't playing at that rate and is always trying to increase
their hph, I'm just letting them know they can do it. I have no idea
what the upper limit is; these are just numbers I can do. But I do
know that I am not the fastest of the people I know.

Obviously most people don't really care what their hph rate is, and
I'm not suggesting they should. I just always got impatient in
between jackpots and mini-jackpots so i kept pushing myself to get
more and more hands out. My posts are really just geared as
encouragement to those with the same neurosis

I agree. 1800, especially for 24hrs, is plain BS.

I think that with copious amounts of Red Bull and a catheter, you
could hit 1800. Of course, there is stuff even more potent than Red
Bull. Hunter S. Thompson's (Mr. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas)
attorney suggest I skip the details however.
