AP/UPI: Fred Friendly, executive VP of Station Casinos, Inc.,
announced today that it has finalized plans to open up Baghdad
Station, a new casino property to be sited inside the largest of
Saddam Hussein's former presidential palaces.
"It's perfect," enthused Friendly in an interview Monday. "Patch up
the bomb craters, disarm a few booby traps, and of course expand the
parking area a bit, and we're there."
When it was pointed out that Iraqis may not have the money to gamble
in the aftermath of the current war, Friendly announced his plans to
accept livestock, household goods, and children in exchange for
gaming chips.
"A buffet comp for two for anyone who turns in an AK-47." he added.
