There is no refund. However some people have stated that they have been able to get a credit for the Mississippi tax on their state tax filing. This apparently depends upon the state that you live in and is not allowed in all states/jurisdictions.

You had to report your Mississippi W2G income on your Illinois state return. Were you able to claim a credit for the "net" tax you paid to Mississippi on your Illinois return? (I know you can do this for tax paid in IN and MO up to the 3% IL rate as I also live in IL and have had W2Gs from those states in the past.) The issue is whether this is considered an income tax or some other kind of tax or fee. Since the minimum W2G tax from Mississippi is $36 ($1,200*.03) they will wind up with at least $25 of your money.

Thank You, I was in Tunica more than 5-1/2 years ago but did not hit a W2G while down there so it did not matter.
