As several posters have suggested, decent VP and reasonable cash back except when you hit big) provided the only reasons for VP players to visit the Majestic Star. Now that pickings are so slim, why put up with the frayed smoky ambience, bland tasteless food, drab musty hotel, etc.?

I'm hoping the Star pays thru Barden's nose for its short-sighted approach. Already several very heavy players I know have abandoned the Star, leaving formerly busy full pay (especially the 100-play quarter)units empty and, I bet, far less profitable. Casino returns of .25%, .5%, or 1% of a truckload of coin-in seems far better for the bottom line than 100% of nada. Apparently, no one in Star management can work a calculator.
