St, Ignace Casino

Has anyone been up to the casino at St. Ignace lately?
They were building a new hotel/casino up there last fall on my last
visit and I was wondering if it was finished yet.
I'll be up there this weekend on my way to do some fishing in the
UP and was wondering if they're vp inventory has changed. They never
had much to offer the vp player in the past, but maybe that has
changed? (fat chance of that happening)
They're web site says that it was supposed to be up and running in
the spring...is it?

I was there a couple of weeks ago and the new building was being used
for concerts and a bar is open, but no gambling in the new bldg. I
was talking to a neighbor and he said that part of the new building
was not built on Indian land and that is why the new building is not
in full use.

I found some $1 9/6 JoB machines along the back wall (farthest from
the parking lot) bear to the right as you enter from the "dome".

I got an email from someone saying the same thing, that they some
how built part of it on private land. Someone is going to get
scalped for that one.

I think old VP Pappy once said, "If white man speaks with forked
tongue, then red man speaks with forked casino."

I was up to the St. Ignace casino twice over the weekend going to
and from the UP. The new hotel (it looks great) is booking guests and
the bar and restaurant are open, but no gaming as yet.
They are erecting a huge tent-like structure that's going to serve
as a temporary (?) gaming area until they get their mess cleaned up.
Some guy who owns the land that they mistakenly built the new
hotel/casino on has stopped them from offering gambling. I was told
that the Indian owners are trying to enlist the government in getting
this resolved
While I was there, I played mostly dollar 9/6 JB and hit a lot of
quads to win a few hundred. I also hit a quarter 12 Times slot
machine for the 12 Times symbol and two triple bars for 900 credits.
The bells ran on for five minutes. Fun, but very lucky.
