In general literature, which is reinforced with my own experience, I
read that a good player will get about 600 hands per hour in on a
single line machine. I recognize there are much faster and slower
players, but that seems to be a good average in calculating coin in per
hour, etc. I have never seen anyone state the equivalent speed on
multiplay machines, particularly the 50 and 100 play. Those games have
significantly lower overall speed per dealt hand. Can anyone give me
some idea what would be an equivalent speed to 600 hands per hour on a
single line? Thanks in advance.

My experience for 50 and 100 play machines has been roughly 300 hands
per hour. And this is with the turbo mode turned on. In non-turbo,
these machines play extrememly slowly.
3/5 play machines seem to play almost as fast as single line machines -
particularly if you use the deal button to "slam" in the credits won
all at once instead of waiting for them to add up. I can easily get
500+ HPH on these machines, and that's counting bathroom breaks and W2-
G interruptions.

The multiline machines at Casino Rama (3,5,or 10 line) have a "turbo"
setting that makes them pretty much as fast as single line. I can
comfortably play them at around 800 dealt hands per hour.
i can get as many as 400 hph on a 100-play machine, but i also play over
1000 hph on single line. when i was new to video poker and only got 600 hph
on single line, i was getting about 300 hph on 100-play, maybe as high as
350 on 50-play.
some newer 3/5/10 play machines can be almost as fast as single line.
cheers,
five
