SPECIAL STRATEGY FOR PROGRESSIVE JOB

Hi

I was told according to Stanford Wong if you have three cards to a
Royal and a high pair...once the jackpot reaches a certain point you
discard the high pair and keep the three to a Royal which goes
against the 99.54 payback strategy.

Is this true?If so,at which point does this occurs.

Is there any change in strategy when you are playing a high jackpot
progressive 9/6 JOB machine?

Befuddled

Of course it's true. For 9/6 JOB progressives, this particular
strategy change begins to happen before the Royal even reaches 5000
coins, but it depends on which 3 card Royal we are talking about, and
what penalty cards are present. For example, with a 5000 coin
jackpot, QJTs and KQJs always beat a high pair, but a high pair beats
three card Royals that include an Ace and a Ten. For the other 3
card royals, it depends on the penalty cards. At a 6000 coin
jackpot, three card royal draws always beat a high pair.

There are plenty of strategy changes that occur as the Royal value
increases. Any draw with royal potential (and remember that this
includes draws such as a single high card, or even a 5 card redraw)
will increase in value as the jackpot gets higher. You really need
software like WinPoker or Tomski's VP Strategy Master to help you
figure out what strategy changes to make at various jackpot levels.
I'm sure Frugal VP will do this also. But please note that you don't
have to make any strategy changes at all if you don't want to. You
can use standard 9/6 JOB strategy on progressive machines, and you
will still get some additional expected value from the higher
jackpot. But you won't realize the full potential of the progressive
machine, and you won't shorten your theoretical royal cycle. This
approach is somewhat like a card counter who always plays perfect
basic strategy and only uses the count to vary his bet. He can still
play a winning game with this approach, but he won't win as much as
someone who varies his bets AND his strategy according to the count.

I've used a very simple strategy ever since I purchased Scoblete's
Victory at VP. Don't play 8/5 until 8000 coins when it equals 9/6 at
99.5%. Then simply switch 3 to RF and hi pr after 4 to SF inside. At
8960 BTW it goes 100+. $2240 in .25, $44,800 to u flying fins ,which
I still see and 100th that $448 in nicks, which I don't. CD
