Speaking of MS being astute

We tried the new Seasons buffet this week. Talk about getting it wrong - this is a disaster. They spent a ton of money making the outside look nice, but it then spiraled rapidly downhill.

First of all the logistics are terrible - no flow to the place at all. When you're bringing back food, you fight through the line of people coming in. But don't worry, you won't be making many trips up for food, as the quality is not very good.

They did add sushi, so if you are one of those people who like to eat bait, you could try it. The prime rib is a very small step up from the old steamship of beef, but its very small. The paper-thin slice was dry and tough.

There was a huge line waiting for the ice cream, preventing people from getting to the whole right side of the buffet.

But maybe even worse than the food was the noise. They put in some poured concrete decorative panels, and the noise levels were 5x worse than the casino with all the bells and loud music. The din was terrible.

The staff was trying desperately to provide service, but there were too few of them and they were having problems maneuvering around as well.

Pity the poor people who "won" free buffets for a year. That's a worse sentence than Casey Anthony got.

I won't even mention the price - well, yes I will - $25. I predict the only time this place will be full is on 2-for-1 Tuesdays. But its not even worth the $12.50

And they could have looked just a few miles away for how to do it right. Foxwoods buffet is 10x better - the food is FAR superior, they have quite a few partitions to lower the noise, they have many separate food stations to keep the flow of people moving. Just done right. And for only $15.

To me it looks like the Sun took the people who did their computer system and told them that the buffet was their next project.

We found the new buffet very disappointing. We really like Sunburst. Items from Sunburst that are now missing are -
maybe 20 choices of salad items and dressings.
more choices of vegetables.
Waffles and crepes and hot fudge.

On the other hand, the chocolate bread pudding is extraordinary. --- In vpFREE_NewEngland@yahoogroups.com, "guruperf@..." <guruperf@...> wrote:
